A DPP platform is not a QR generator

Generating a QR code is easy. Operating product passports means resolving identity, mapping fragmented source data, validating requirements, maintaining evidence, controlling access, publishing reliable pages and preserving the result as systems and regulations change.

Questions that expose weak systems

Ask what happens when a supplier changes a declaration, a certificate expires, one batch differs from the model, a product is recalled or the delegated act changes a mandatory field. Ask whether every published claim can be traced to its source and whether the complete dataset can be exported.

Start with an operational pilot

Use a representative set of products across categories, suppliers and data-quality levels. Connect the real source systems, publish at least one consumer view, test restricted access and measure the manual work needed to resolve exceptions. A polished mock with manually prepared data does not demonstrate operational readiness.
