What the rule requires
France’s AGEC framework requires covered producers and importers to provide consumers with a dedicated digital product sheet describing applicable environmental qualities and characteristics. The information must be free and accessible at the time of purchase.
Textile fields to operationalise
For clothing, household linen and footwear, the official guidance identifies fields including recycled-material incorporation, recyclability, hazardous substances, geographical traceability and the presence of plastic microfibres, subject to the detailed scope and thresholds.
A product-page URL is not enough
The product sheet must remain findable and understandable. Build stable identifiers, a searchable publication layer, field-level evidence and a history of what was published for each product. Avoid burying mandatory information inside a generic sustainability page or a PDF catalogue.
Connection with a DPP
AGEC and the future EU DPP are separate legal instruments, but a shared product-data model prevents duplicate work. The same verified composition, origin, substances and recyclability facts can feed distinct jurisdiction-specific outputs.
